What does living fragrance mean?
There are scents that are intense and fade quickly. There are also real ones that develop over time. We call them living scents. This is the character of a candle that doesn't run out in the first five minutes, but develops gradually.
A living scent means a profile that changes and deepens, not one that just “smells strong.” In our candles, this happens because we work with premium perfume compositions and vegetable (soy) wax, which need time to bond. We pour by hand, in small batches, and let each edition age before it reaches you.

How a "living" character is born
When you light the candle, the heat awakens the fragrance. At first, you will feel the first wave - the bright notes that emerge after 15-20 minutes . Then, after a little more time, the heart of the fragrance appears: that balanced, lively aroma that makes the room cozy without weighing it down.
After the first 2–3 burnings, the profile becomes richer and more even — the oils and wax are now “speaking the same language.” That’s why we say our candles have a living scent : they’re not ready for a photo, but for conversation. You can find out more about them here.
"Is it strong?" vs. "Is it alive?"
Power is not an end in itself. You can make something strong and rough, or lively and full . We choose the latter. Our candles fill the room with a perfumed, rich character, but leave room for breath. This is the difference between “smells” and “is present.”
How to preserve the scent over time
Store the candle in a dry, dark, cool place, away from direct sunlight. Close the box when not burning. This way, the vibrant scent will retain its shape — and become more intense, not weaker, over time.
Our little ritual for a living scent
-
Start: turn on and wait 15–20 minutes for the first wave.
-
It burns for 2–3 hours, but no more — this way the surface melts evenly and the aroma is fully felt.
-
Trim the wick to 5 mm before each lighting. It's a small gesture with a big effect: a stable flame and clean air. For hassle-free and convenient wick trimming, we recommend our deluxe wick trimmer.
-
Don't leave it in a draft. The fragrance unfolds more fully when it's not fighting a wind.
